ANDRA Australian National Drag Racing Association History
ANDRA Drag Racing has now become a credible and very popular form of motor sport. In 1973, drag racing enthusiasts from the Australian Street Rod Federation established the Australian National Drag Racing Association (ANDRA) as the governing body of drag racing in Australia and, up until 1991, it was the only independant motor sport discipline operating with Confederation of Australian Motor Sport (CAMS) approval.
ANDRA became a member of the Federation Internationale de l’Automobile in 1994 and is recognised as the best in the world outside of the USA.
Today the ANDRA sanctions races throughout Australia and throughout the year at all levels, from Top Fuel to Junior Dragster.
