History
The success of Ricardo Rodriguez,a Mexican Formula One racer, speed up Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez's creation.
In 1963, the track hosted its first F1 event. It continued until the 1970 season. The FIA had the track off the schedule due to security concerns.
The track was inactive until it was rebuilt in 1985. Though the track was bumpy, the F1 teams thought it was a great challenge until Ayrton Senna turned his McLaren upside down in the Peraltada during qualifying in 1991.With Mexico City turning crowded and polluted, F1 took the track from the schedule in 1992.
It would take another 10 years for another international event to be held in the facility.
It was in August 2004 NASCAR announced the track would host a Busch Series event beginning 2005.
