Biography
Charlie Glotzbach was born on June 19, 1938 in Edwardsville, Indiana. He owns a truck sales business in Louisville, Kentucky called the "Charlie's Truck Sales". He's called "The Chargin' Comet" and "Chargin' Charlie".According to three-time Indianapolis 500 winner Johnny Rutherford, Glotzbach was a charger that's how he got his name.
Glotzbach started his career driving at tracks around Jeffersonville, Indiana and that includes the high-banked Salem Speedway. He was known for his speed and skill on the track.
Glotzbach had his first NASCAR race in 1960. In 1964, he became Rookie of the Year in the ARCA Series.
