Daytona International Speedway is a top-line race track in the world.It has a 2.5 mile (4 km)superspeedway tri-oval race track facility in Daytona Beach with a seating capacity of 168,000. It also includes a 3.56 mile (5.7 km) road course and a 180-acre infield, including the 29 acre Lake Lloyd, the one used for powerboat racing.It hosts races of motor vehicles of various kinds, including go-karts, motorcycles (on and off road), sports cars, modified pickup trucks, and stock cars. It is owned and operated by International Speedway Corporation.
The Daytona International Speedway was constructed by architects Charles Moneypenny and Bill France with a cost of 3 million dollars.
The Daytona 500 is the richest, biggest and most prestigious race in America and annually kicks off the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series which is held in Daytona International Speedway.
