Formula First is a cheap, entry level, single seater class that allows drivers to learn the ropes before moving on to the higher classes.
All the cars are powered by the same 1200cc engine, making it common for the first cars past the checkered flag to finish within .5 of a second of each other. With top speeds approaching 200kph, the cars are fun to drive and not far behind the higher classes for excitement.
Costs are low - $20,000 for a car with running costs lower than most other forms of motor racing. Cars can also be leased at a cost of $1000-$2000 per meeting.
