The 2008 Formula 1 ING Australian Grand Prix that will emanate from Melbourne's Albert Park Grand Prix Circuit on the 16th of March 2008 is the first of 18 events scheduled in the 2008 FIA Formula One World Championship Race Calendar. Race starts at 15:30 Local time and 04:30 GMT. This race will have 58 laps and will cover 307.574 kilometers. Ferrari driver Michael Schumacher holds the lap record with a 1:24.125 time established in 2004. The circuit, which is 5.303 km long, is a street-based circuit around Albert Park Lake. The event will start with a couple of practice sessions on the 14th of March starting at 10:00 and ending at 15:30 hours, and will continue the following day from 11:00-12:00. The qualifying race will then take place at 14:00 before the actual race begins on Sunday at 15:30 hours.
