Vandalism
Vandalism is any act of serious defacement or destruction of a structure or symbol that goes against the rules of a governing body or an individual. Here at WikiMotorsports, vandalism is the damage done to the integrity of the wiki project. It may either be as simple as changing the text of an article to produce nonsense results or placing obscenities in the images section of an entry.
This is a serious crime inside any wiki site and is dealt with accordingly.

What is Considered Vandalism?
- Removing all or significant parts of articles and replacing the removed content with profanities is a common vandal edit.
- Adding nonsense text in an entry.
- Adding silly jokes in an entry that aims to degrade the article.
- Creating a hoax or fallacious entry.
- Adding misinformation, changing dates or making other sensible-appearing substitutions and typos.
- Reverting legitimate edits to hinder the improvement process.
- Using offensive user names and adding user profiles that contain foul language and insults.
- Uploading images with offensive content, or images that are copyrighted.
- Placing { { subject for deletion } } templates into an article that does not fall under this category.
- Using templates that are inappropriate to the article.
- Blanking the template, adding an image to the template which is unrelated to its use.
- Moving articles to nonsense titles or offensive names.
- Redirecting articles or talk pages to offensive articles or images or redirecting them to articles that are not related to the original subject.
- Editing signed comments by another user to substantially change their meaning.
- Deleting or altering part of a WikiMotorsports guidelines page with which the vandal disagrees, without any attempt to seek consensus or recognize an existing consensus.
- Use of any copyrighted material (text or images) without permission.
- Any of the above in the form of hidden text not visible to the final rendering of the article but visible during editing.

How to Monitor Vandalism?
- The best way to monitor vandalism is to visit the recent changes section and view the changes made.
- Keeping a watch on your Watchlist page.

How to deal With Vandalism
- Revert the article at hand and leave a warning message on the user's talk page. Also it is recommended to check the page history after reverting to make sure you have removed all the vandalism; there may be multiple vandal edits, sometimes from several different IPs.
- If it is obvious that all versions of the page are pure vandalism, nominate the page for deletion.
- Check the vandal's other contributions (check the person's IP address or username) — you will often find more malicious edits.
- Dont be afraid to put status templates into an article to indicate whether it is in a "Warning" or "Subject for Deletion" status.
- A user may put warning templates on vandalised articles and images that may last for 3 days.
- After 3 days, if the vandalised article is still not edited, a user may put a subject for deletion template that will last for 2 days. And after 2 days, if the article is still not edited, the administrators shall delete the article.

Administrator's Intervention
If the administrators found a vandalised article, they may:
- Put warning templates on vandalised articles and images that may last for 3 days.
- After 3 days, if the vandalised article is still not edited, we will put a subject for deletion template that will last for 2 days. And after 2 days, if the article is still not edited, the administrators shall delete the article.
- IP addresses and users who commit such abuse will be warned for 3 days. If they do not remove their malicious entries within 3 days, they will be candidates for expulsion or blacklisting in the wiki project immediately.

Removal of the Warning and Subject For Deletion Templates
Anyone can remove the templates as long as the article is cleared of any vandalism. Remember, removing the templates without editing the article is considered a vandalism.
