Biography

JJ Yeley was born on October 5, 1976 in Phoenix, Arizona. He is the son even-time Arizona Midget Racing Association and two-time World of Outlaws midget champion “Cactus” Jack Yeley.

He started racing in a quarter midget when he was 10. At 14, he raced in midgets. In 1991, he bagged the Arizona Midget Racing Association rookie of the year award. He became the youngest driver ever to receive a United States Auto Club (USAC) license when he was 16.

In 1993, Yeley became the youngest driver to be invited to participate in the International Midget Contest for Team USA.

In 1994, Yeley earned the SCRA Rookie of the Year honors.

The native of Arizona's biggest break came in 2005 at Chicagoland Speedway.

In 1994, Yeley had his Busch Series debut, driving 17 races for Gibbs.
