Biography

Jamie McMurray was born on June 3, 1976 at Joplin, Mo. He was the one chosen by Mark Martin to replace him in the No. 6.

McMurray's penchant for racing in go-carts began at the age of 8. At 10, he had his first United States Go-Kart title. He also won the World Go-Karting Championship in 1991.

McMurray started driving NASCAR Late Models in 1992.In 1999, McMurray had his NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series debut.

He was named Rookie of the Year in 2003.
