Biography
Jeff Burton was born on June 29, 1967 in South Boston, Virginia. He started racing since he was seven years old. He began racing go-karts. He has been racing for more than 30 years.
In 1988, he began racing in Nascar. Finishing twice in 11th in five Busch Series races, he also drive for Sam Ard(Busch legend) in September 1990 which he won his first series victory.
In 1992, he finished personal-best in which he made it to 9th in points in the Busch Series.
In 1993, he started 6th and ended in only 86 laps due to a crash at the New Hampshire which made his Cup debut. He won Cup rookie of the year honors in 1994.
In four consecutive years, he finished in the top five in points and amassed 15 of his career 17 victories, at Texas in 1997.
In 1999, he won a career-best six races. In 2000, he finished a personal-best third in points.
He then move to Richard Childress Racing in 2005.
