Biography
Kevin Harvick was born on Dec. 8, 1975 at Bakersfield, California. He is married to wife DeLana. He has been racing for about 26 years.
Kevin had his first taste of speed in 1980 when his parents gave him a go-kart for his indergarten graduation. Throughout the ten years in go-carting, Kevin bagged seven National Championships and two Grand National Championships.
In high school, Kevin raced on a limited basis in the NASCAR Featherlite Southwest Series. He revs up full time in 1995, earning rookie of the year awards.
Instead of studying architecture in college, Kevin continued his career in racing in the Winston West Series. He won five races in 1998 on his way to become the Winston West champion.
Kevin made his Craftsman Truck Series debut in 1995. He had his first two top 10s in 1997. In 2000, he raced full time in the Busch Series.
In 2001, Kevin earned the Busch Series title with five victories, 20 top-fives and 24 top-10s in 33 races.
Kevin had his Cup series debut when he replaced Dale Earnhardt after the Daytona 500 tragedy. He had his first victory in the Cup Series in Atlanta.
Kevin became the first drive to race full time in both the Cup and Busch Series.
