Biography

A native of Las Vegas, Kurt Busch was born on August 4, 1978. He was married to Evan Bryan on July 27, 2006. He is the older brother of Kyle Busch, 2005 Nextel Cup Rookie of the Year.

Busch started racing in the Dwarf Car Series. In 1995 and 1996, Busch won back-to-back championships in the Dwarf and Hobby Stock Leagues. He became rookie of the year in the Southwest touring series in 1998 and won the championship the following year. It took him six years to go from Dwarf Car rookie of the year to the top rungs of NASCAR in 2000.

In March 2002, Busch had his first cup victory at Bristol. That season he won three more races.

Busch won NASCAR's Inaugural Chase for the NEXTEL cup two years after.
