Feature Article: Formula Ford

Formula Ford is a single seater, open wheel class of motorsport that races all around the world.

The series was started by John Webb, Geoff Clarke and Jim Russell who wanted a cheap training ground for young drivers who want to become Formula One drivers. Many famous Formula One drivers have started their careers in Formula Ford.

Formula Ford racing is mainly an amateur, club-racing series for serious enthusiasts.

A Formula Ford car has no wings to create aerodynamic downforce, ensuring that following cars are not disadvantaged by aerodynamics.

Formula Ford cars are light weight (1000 lb), and small engined and can reach speeds of around 140+ mph.
