| Open Wheel Racing
Open wheel racing is the form of racing known to most of us. It uses single seat cars that have been developed, primarily for speed, with open or uncovered wheels. Formula One is the most notable variety of this type and probably the most expensive sport in the world today.
Open wheel races are mostly held on closed circuit, oval tracks, with a few events held on street courses that have been closed for the events.
