Endurance Racing is a type of motorsport where the participants will have to cover a large distance in a single event continually with only an ample amount of break time to change during the race. As the title indicate, this competition is all about testing the endurance of the drivers and durability of their vehicles to withstand the wear and tear of this continuous contest. Endurance racing may be done with either a constant distance or a constant time. With a constant distance, drivers are tasked to cover a set distance in laps as quickly as possible while the constant time requires drivers to cover as much distance as possible over a preset amount of time. The common distant constant and time usually is 1000 km or roughly six hours with an even longer races covering 1000 miles, 12 hours, or even 24 hours.

The 24 Hours of Le Mans (24 Hours of Le Mans) is a sports car endurance race considered by many motorsport enthusiasts as the greatest long-distance classic in the history of motor sports. This competition, also known as the Grand Prix of Endurance, has been annually held since May of 1923 near the town of Le Mans, Sarthe, France. The first ever race was taken home by a 2-litre Chenard & Walcker from Asnières in France. The annual event is organized by the Automobile Club de l'Ouest (ACO) and run on a circuit containing closed public roads that are meant not only to test a car and driver's ability to be quick, but also to last over a 24-hour period. Ever since its inception, the 24 Hours of Le Mans have often been conducted in June, with the exception of the first ever race and two others in 1956 and 1968 when the event was held in July and September, respectively.
