Motorsport [ mṓtər spàwrt ] is a sport in which participants race motor vehicles, usually around a track. The sport is said to have began in the late 1800's and is now one of the world's most popular sport. A year after the first contest was organized by Le Perit Journal (a Paris magazine), the first real race was conducted in France and covered Paris to Bordeaux.
